Episode 1: Cody Williamson ’12

Cody Williamson began attending North Georgia College and State University in Fall 2008. While attending college, Cody was a member of the Corps of Cadets assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company as a member of the Golden Eagle Band. Cody remained a member of the Corps of Cadets his freshman, sophomore, and junior years before transitioning to a civilian student his senior year.

Cody graduated from UNG in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Criminal Justice and concentration in Forensics. Cody began his career with the Georgia Department of Corrections as a Probation Officer in the Savannah Probation Office in 2012. In 2014, Cody transferred to the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles as a Parole Officer in the Statesboro Office. In 2015, Cody went back to the Department of Corrections as the Investigator assigned to Smith State Prison in Glennville, Georgia. Cody promoted to Special Agent assigned to the Southeast Region in 2019. In that capacity, Cody became the first Crime Scene Specialist for the Georgia Department of Corrections.  

Cody has attended Basic Probation/Parole Officer Training, Basic Law Enforcement Training, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Basic Agent Course, and will graduate from the University of Tennessee’s National Forensic Academy in November 2022. Cody is also certified by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council as a Crime Scene Technician.

Cody married his wife Whittney in May 2012. Whittney is also a graduate of the UNG Class of 2012 who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Together they reside in Toombs County, Georgia and have one daughter, Kennedy.
