Beth Allinger ‘08

Beth Allinger is the Director of Finance and Administration at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. She oversees a $23 million budget and leads strategic initiatives across finance, human resources, compliance, and facilities management. In this role, she manages a team that includes business office staff, an IT manager, and a facilities manager—guiding operational decisions that support the college’s long-term goals and mission.

Beth began her UGA career in 2012 as a cashier at the University Health Center, and advanced through the university utilizing the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) to pursue her education while working full time. She holds an Associate’s degree in Music from Gainesville State College (2008), a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Kennesaw State University, and an MBA from Georgia Southern University. She is SHRM-CP certified, currently preparing for the CMA credential, and is enrolled in a certificate program for Higher Education Administrators, with plans to pursue her doctorate. Her professional focus includes financial stewardship, strategic operations, grants administration, and continuous improvement in higher education systems.

Outside of work, Beth is an active member of the Northwinds Symphonic Band, where she has played French horn since 2005. She serves on the Board of Directors for Hope Haven of Northeast Georgia, a nonprofit that supports individuals with developmental disabilities in Athens-Clarke and surrounding counties. Beth is also a member of SHRM, NACUBO, and CUPA, and is deeply committed to both community service and the arts. She lives in Athens with her supportive husband, Chris, and their three children: Sawyer, Carter, and Turner.
